![]() By: Michaela DiMarcantonio Hamilton, ON – Gregg Goddard was awarded his second HHJGT Junior Champion title at the Hamilton Halton Junior Golf Tour banquet on August 21 at Glendale Golf and Country Club. Gregg Goddard ended the season with a total of 1465 points to be named the HHJGT Junior Champion. He finished ahead of Zac Moore with 1245.33 points. Highlights of Gregg Goddard’s 2014 season on the HHJGT include 2 wins, and 2 runner-up finishes in 7 events. “It means the world to me to win this tour, all the work I’ve put in, it really paid off” said Goddard. Goddard’s most impressive performance of the season came at Rattle Snake Point Golf Club’s Copperhead course where he shot a 6-under par round of 66. He finished one shot ahead of Callum Biehn for the tour stop win.

Overnight rain and a threatening forecast couldn't keep players from making their share of birdies. In the Junior Division, what started out as a rather slow scoring affair from the start of the field turned into a heated battle from the last two groups. Callum Biehn made 7 birdies and 2 bogies to post a round of five under par 67. Biehn's 67 tied his career low and a finishing bogey made him feel uneasy waiting for the final group to finish... ![]() FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE By: Michaela DiMarcantonio Ancaster – The Hamilton Halton Junior Golf Tour (HHJGT) members continued their season at Clublink’s Heron Point Golf Links Thursday July 31 for Tour Stop #4. Despite the threat of thunderstorms in the forecast, all the HHJGT members were able to complete their rounds under sunny skies. In the Junior Division, after 18 holes of tournament play Thomas Giroux from the Club at North Halton and Johnny Travale of Glendale Golf Club sat atop the leaderboard, with matching rounds of 3-over par 74. While the weather was hot, the winners’ putters were even hotter. Coming off a top 20 finish at the GAO Investors Group Ontario Junior Boys' Championship last week, Nick Hofland shot the only under par round of the day with an impressive 4-under par round of 68. Hofland claimed the win in the Junior Division for Tour Stop #3... ![]() FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE By: Michaela DiMarcantonio Hamilton ON - Despite beginning Tour Stop #2 with a half an hour rain delay at Glendale Golf and Country Club on Monday July 7, Hamilton Halton Junior Golf Tour (HHJGT) members were able to successfully complete their rounds. Although the rain held off for the remainder of the round, the strong winds proved to be a challenge. Zac Moore of Brantford Golf and Country Club responded to the challenging conditions by posting a 2-over par round of 74 to win Tour Stop #2 in the Junior Division. He finished one shot ahead of four players with rounds of 75. Trevor Corner, John Majerovich, Andrew Pearson, and the 2013 Junior Division winner, Gregg Goddard all finished tied for second. ![]() FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE By: Michaela DiMarcantonio Acton ON - The first tour stop on the Hamilton Halton Junior Golf Tour (HHJGT) was held yesterday, July 2 at Clublink’s Blue Springs Golf Course. The sun was shining for the greater part of the day, but the winds were strong. Late in the day inclement weather caused the Girls Division tournament to be shortened to 13 holes. The Junior and Bantam Division golfers were able to complete their rounds. The low score for the day came from Ryan Murphy of Beverly Golf and Country Club. He fired a 3 over par round of 75 to edge out defending 2013 HHJGT Junior Champion Gregg Goddard by 3 strokes... ![]() FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE By: Michaela DiMarcantonio Hamilton ON - The Hamilton Halton Junior Golf Tour (HHJGT) was graced with beautiful weather Sunday June 1 as aspiring junior and bantam golfers teed it up for the annual qualifier on the Martin Course at Chedoke Golf Club. Golfers were competing for a 2014 membership on the Hamilton Halton Junior Golf Tour. There were 33 spots available in the Junior Division (ages 15-18) and 12 spots in the Bantam Division (ages 10-14). Any ties were broken through retrogression according to the lowest back nine score. The 2014 Hamilton Halton Junior Golf Tour roster will be finalized with the addition of 13 returning exempt juniors that includes 2013 Bantam Champion Johnny Travale who has opted to play as a Junior for 2014. ![]() FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Hamilton ON - The Hamilton Halton Junior Golf Tour (HHJGT) is pleased to name PGA of Canada Class "A" Member and former HHJGT player Jim Kenesky President for the 2014 and 2015 seasons. Jim was first named to the HHJGT Board of Directors in 2011 and moved into the Vice President role last year. Jim takes over now for two-time Past HHJGT Champion (1992,1994) Jeff Ollinger who served as HHJGT President from 2011-2013. Jeff now moves into the Past President role and will remain an active member of the HHJGT board. "I am extremely excited and proud to take over this role for the longest running regional junior tour in Ontario." states Kenesky.
