Jim Kenesky Named New President of HHJGT

Hamilton ON - The Hamilton Halton Junior Golf Tour (HHJGT) is pleased to name PGA of Canada Class "A" Member and former HHJGT player Jim Kenesky President for the 2014 and 2015 seasons.

Jim was first named to the HHJGT Board of Directors in 2011 and moved into the Vice President role last year.  Jim takes over now for two-time Past HHJGT Champion (1992,1994) Jeff Ollinger who served as HHJGT President from 2011-2013.  Jeff now moves into the Past President role and will remain an active member of the HHJGT board.

Kenesky is currently employed with Golf Genius Software as their Sales Manager Canada.  Golf Genius Software is a fast growing web based golf scoring company that is based in Philadelphia, PA.  Jim was the major contact involved in gaining the PGA of Canada, PGA of Ontario, and Ottawa PGA as current accounts using the product for their official scoring software. 

Kenesky remains a competitive player on the PGA of Ontario circuit and the local Golden Horseshoe Area Golf Tour where he also serves as that Tour's President.  Last season he found the winners circle for the first time in the PGA of Ontario when he captured the PGA of Ontario Assistant's Spring Championship at Wyndance Golf Club in Uxbridge ON. 

"I played the Junior Tour from 1995-1998 and have many memories from my time on tour.  However, back then the tour was looked upon as THE place to hone your skills and gain scholarships south of the border in our area." Kenesky comments.  "With some of the additions to our board over the last two seasons, I expect the Tour to quickly get back to the way it was in the 1990's albeit with some modern flair."

The 2014 HHJGT season will commence in early June with the annual qualifying day and the 7 event tour will run from early July to mid August.  The overall point leader in the Junior Division at the end of the seven events will be crowned the Junior Golf Champion of Hamilton/Halton.  Last season Gregg Goddard from Hidden Lake Golf Club showed extreme patience and consistency in winning the overall Championship.

ABOUT THE HHJGT   

The Hamilton/Halton Junior Golf Tour was established in 1984 with the primary goal to create a junior golf championship for the Hamilton/Halton regions, while providing a forum in which junior players, aged 18 and under, could enhance their considerable talents through competition with their peers.  The Tour was the first of its kind in Ontario and remains one of the most affordable junior tours in the province.

The Tour provides opportunities for players to make new friends and learn valuable life lessons.  Past Champions and Tour players have used their Tour experience to obtain educational and golf scholarships throughout the U.S. and Canada to further pursue their education and golfing careers.
