Team HHJGT victorious at Humber Cup

Belleville, Ont – Team HHJGT secured multiple division wins at the 2016 Humber Cup hosted by the St. Lawrence Tour at Black Bear Ridge Golf Club from August 29 to 30.
 
The HHJGT U-19 Junior Boys Team starring Brad Byers Jarrett Fitzpatrick, Nic Francis and Marcus Khaw captured the Humber Cup in a playoff vs. the Durham Junior Tour. Marcus Khaw was also crowned the individual U-19 Junior Boys champion with a sizzling 7-under-par round of 65.
 
Team HHJGT’s Skylar Kew and Alexandra Trojak successfully captured the U-15 Girls division. In the U-15 Bantam Boys division Weston Farnworth and Michael Guyatt representing the HHJGT finished fourth.
 
Congratulations to all members of team HHJGT for their solid performance!

Cunningham low bantam qualifier, Lemoine and Petter low juniors at Chedoke Golf Course

Hamilton, Ont. – Junior and bantam golfers teed it up at the Martin Course at Chedoke Golf Club for the Hamilton Halton Junior Golf Tour’s annual Qualifying Day.
 
Golfers were patient as they played through the periods of rain and shine. Play was suspended twice throughout the day due to thunderstorms in the area.

​Tyler Cunningham of RattleSnake Point Golf Club fired an impressive three-under-par score of 67 to lead the bantam division.
 
“I played very consistently. I took advantage of the holes I could score on and got through the ones that were tougher,” said Cunningham.

. – The Hamilton/Halton Junior Golf Tour (HHJGT) Board of Directors name Tour alumnus Scott Niewland as president for the 2016 and 2017 seasons. With his appointment, former Tour president Jim Kenesky will step into his role as past president for the upcoming seasons.
 
“The HHJGT has a long-standing tradition as being a great developmental tour for kids starting to compete at a higher level,” said Niewland. “I am truly looking forward as President of the HHJGT, to support what I believe is one of the best Regional Junior Tours in North America. We hope to continue to drive an enhanced competitive experience and create positive engagement in the game for our members.”

HAMILTON, Ont. – The Hamilton Halton Junior Golf Tour (HHJGT) members teed it up Monday morning for the second tour stop of the season at Glendale Golf & Country Club. Jack Jelinek posted one of two rounds under par to take the Junior Boys title at Tour Stop #2. In the Bantam division, Luca Carestia claimed the crowned after making par on the first playoff hole. The 2014 HHJGT Junior Girls Champion, Elanna Lachaine DeMarchi won her first event of the 2015 season.

 Jack Jelinek set the pace for the day with a birdie on the first hole at Glendale Golf & Country Club.

He added an eagle to his card on hole 14, he holed out on the par 4 on his second shot from the rough. “I thought it was plugged in the rough, but it was just really thick so I just chunked it out and it landed 15 yards short and rolled up,” commented Jake on his shot into 14. “I didn’t see it, but they guys told me it was in so that was a nice surprise.”

BURLINGTON, Ont.
– The Hamilton Halton Junior Golf Tour (HHJGT) kicked off its 32nd season Thursday July 2nd at Clublink’s Hidden Lake Golf Club (New Course) for Tour Stop #1. Nick Hofland captured the Junior Boys division in a playoff while extra holes were also required to award Ryan Kennedy the Bantam division title. Jennifer Knox secured the Junior Girls division with a career low round.

 Nick Hofland was the first off the tee at Hidden Lake Golf Course on Thursday morning. He began the day with a bogey and collected three others and a single birdie before making the turn at 3-over. It wasn’t until the back nine that Hofland gained the momentum needed to propel him to the top of the leaderboard. He charged with a birdie on the par 3 hole #11 before adding an eagle to the card on the par 5 hole #14 and a birdie on the 16th hole for a 3-under 33 back nine score. He posted the early clubhouse lead with an even-par round of 71....

Hamilton, Ont. – Junior and Bantam golfers competed under a sunny sky today at the Hamilton Halton Junior Golf Tour Qualifying Day hosted by the Martin Course at Chedoke Golf Club. Jason Fitzgerald of Burlington, Ont. captured low qualifier honours in the Junior division with a 2-over par round of 72. Daniel Kim from Dundas, Ont. posted a 7-over par 77 to be low qualifier in the Bantam division.

 The Hamilton Halton Junior Golf Tour (HHJGT) has entered its 32nd season of providing local junior golfers with an opportunity to develop their competitive games in a friendly and encouraging tour setting.

 Heron Point’s Jason Fitzgerald had an early rise this morning in order to get his HHJGT qualifying round in before heading off to Dundee Golf Club in New Dundee, Ont. for the Golf Association of Ontario Junior Boys Championship qualifier...

Hamilton, ON - The Hamilton Halton Junior Golf Tour (HHJGT) is pleased to announce its 2015 tournament schedule. The HHJGT celebrates its 32nd season in operation providing local juniors with competitive golf opportunities.

 The 2015 season, with the continued support of ClubLink, will feature seven one-day tour stops throughout July and August. The season will begin at Hidden Lake Golf Club on July 2.

 "ClubLink has been wonderful to us over the past year and we can't say enough as they have graciously offered seven clubs to us again in 2015.  Their courses will offer our players a challenging experience from event to event.  The staff at ClubLink facilities were great to the Tour last season and we truly appreciate their generosity,” said Jim Kenesky, President of the Hamilton Halton Junior Golf Tour.

Gregg Goddard Successfully Defends HHJGT Championship

Hamilton, ON – Gregg Goddard was awarded his second HHJGT Junior Champion title at the Hamilton Halton Junior Golf Tour banquet on August 21 at Glendale Golf and Country Club.

Gregg Goddard ended the season with a total of 1465 points to be named the HHJGT Junior Champion. He finished ahead of Zac Moore with 1245.33 points.

Highlights of Gregg Goddard’s 2014 season on the HHJGT include 2 wins, and 2 runner-up finishes in 7 events.

“It means the world to me to win this tour, all the work I’ve put in, it really paid off” said Goddard.

Goddard’s most impressive performance of the season came at Rattle Snake Point Golf Club’s Copperhead course where he shot a 6-under par round of 66. He finished one shot ahead of Callum Biehn for the tour stop win.
