![]() FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE By: Jim Kenesky Milton ON - The Hamilton Halton Junior Golf Tour (HHJGT) was at Rattlesnake Point Copperhead Course on Tuesday August 12 for Tour Stop #6. Overnight rain and a threatening forecast couldn't keep players from making their share of birdies. In the Junior Division, what started out as a rather slow scoring affair from the start of the field turned into a heated battle from the last two groups. Callum Biehn made 7 birdies and 2 bogies to post a round of five under par 67. Biehn's 67 tied his career low and a finishing bogey made him feel uneasy waiting for the final group to finish... Gregg Goddard made a great up and down on the 18th and when his 8 footer for par dropped his scorecard totaled 66 strokes. Goddard's round featured 8 birdies and two bogies and was good for the one shot victory over Biehn.
"I hit the driver great and made almost every putt. It was a solid round for sure." Said Goddard of his round. With the win Goddard opens up a comfortable 220 point lead heading into the final Tour Stop on August 21. Zac Moore finished solo third on Tuesday and will remain in second place in the overall standings. Shot of the day in the Junior Division came from Jarrett Fitzpatrick who made an eagle 2 on the tough 9th hole. He holed out from nearly 200 yards for the rare score. In the Bantam Division, Marcus Khaw delivered his fourth win of the season in his fourth event played. Khaw wasn't his sharpest but grinded out a 6 over par 78 for the 2 shot victory over Matthew Flood. Bantam Division point leader Garnet Delsey finished in solo third and now opens up a 195 point lead over Khaw heading into the final Tour Stop. Alyssa DiMarcantonio had a solid round of 78 and was 5 shots clear of runner up Jennifer Knox in the Girls Division. "I didn't start out well, but my goal for the day was to break 80 and I did it. I'm happy with my game today." Stated DiMarcantonio when asked about her round. Elanna Lachaine-DeMarchi holds onto the lead in the GIrls Division point race with a 125 point lead over DiMarcantonio and 175 points ahead of Jennifer Knox. The final Tour Stop will be held on Thursday August 21 at Glendale Golf & Country Club. Following play the HHJGT will hand out the season's hardware at the annual Banquet and the Junior Champions of Hamilton/Halton will be crowned.
