Hamilton, Ont. – Junior and bantam golfers teed it up at the Martin Course at Chedoke Golf Club for the Hamilton Halton Junior Golf Tour’s annual Qualifying Day.
Golfers were patient as they played through the periods of rain and shine. Play was suspended twice throughout the day due to thunderstorms in the area.
Tyler Cunningham of RattleSnake Point Golf Club fired an impressive three-under-par score of 67 to lead the bantam division.
“I played very consistently. I took advantage of the holes I could score on and got through the ones that were tougher,” said Cunningham.
Cunningham’s strategy proved successful as he strung together a series of three birdies to open his second nine.
In the junior division, low qualifiers Jacob Lemoine of Heron Point Golf Club and Owen Petter of Hamilton Golf and Country Club posted rounds of four-over 74.
Qualifying score for the junior division was 85 or better and in the bantam division was 89 or better.
